Welcome to this weeks Flow Feature! Unfortunately Flo lost out at the Brits also, but there are still plenty more nominations for her and the band in the coming months! This weeks Flow Feature is on Braiyan Becerra!

Braiyan’s story began a few years ago with is favourite TV show, Glee. Like many in the Flow community, the first Braiyan heard of Florence + The Machine was when the cast of Glee performed ‘Dog Days Are Over’ at the end of an episode in November, 2010. Braiyan thought the song was wonderful from the beginning, but with no knowledge of the original artist his searches came up empty. Instead Braiyan had to settle for the Glee cast version.

It wasn’t until 2011 that Braiyan decided to try and track down the original version of the song. He searched through the internet until he finally found the Glee Wikipedia page for that episode, and first read the name Florence + The Machine. Much to his regret now, his first thoughts of the band were shock and confusion, wondering what kind of name that was for a band. Little did he know what this mysterious name had in store for him…

Later in 2011 Braiyan finally decided he needed to know more about this band. The first song his Youtube search was ‘Kiss With A Fist’, which needless to say he fell in love with straight away. But Braiyan was still unsatisfied, he needed more. He kept searching and finally after so long found the original version of the song that had caught his attention so long ago, ‘Dog Days Are Over’. There was nothing like the feeling of the first listen. The drums, Florence’s voice, it was perfection that he never knew existed, had never dreamed of.

Braiyan didn’t even need to hear the rest of the album to know that he had found something special. Now with two life-changing albums in his hands Braiyan is certainly glad that he didn’t let what at first seemed like a strange and random name keep him from digging deeper into our world.

Thank you to Braiyan for sharing your story! We sure are glad that you kept digging and eventually found not only the band and their albums, but the Flows as well!!!
